The municipality of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg provides funding of up to 5,000 euro for artistic and socio-cultural projects, collaborative cultural education projects, and theatre projects for children and youth, including puppetry. It additionally funds readings in schools and libraries by writers and illustrators, with a fixed sum of 450 euro per reading.
What do we fund? Funded projects promote the innovative potential of artists and cultural producers across all disciplines, as well as the development of the municipality’s cultural institutions. The aim is to contribute to strengthening cultural infrastructure and diversity within the municipality and to support cultural and artistic activities.

Who can apply? All artists and cultural producers who want to realise a project in the municipality of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg can apply, regardless of their place of residence.
How are applications submitted? Generally, applications for projects to be realised in the following year can be submitted from August to the start of October. The application process takes place online via the webpage of the applicable project fund. Calls for applications and sample forms can be found in the downloads section.
Where can projects be realised? Lists of venues where projects can be realised can be found in the downloads section. These lists, which support municipal cultural networks, serve as an orientation only; projects in other places in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg are also eligible for funding.
How is funding awarded? Successful projects fulfil the funding objectives and requirements based on the recommendation of the respective jury, and depending on the availability of funds.
Juries for projects with younger target groups include young people, who adjudicate on equal terms with other jury members.
